Charlie Hotel
A modern pop-rock trio that combines a penetrating rhythm, melodic vocals and a pop sensibility that gives them a knack for memorable hooks.
Armed with pop sensibilities, a knack for hooks, and a penetrating rhythm section, Charlie Hotel is a melodic, modern pop-rock band and one of the most formidable trios in the southeast. Led by former Transcontinental Records recording artist Chris Harman, and rounded out by Jay Gervais and Vince Mini, Charlie Hotel is a dynamic rock outfit with its sights set on glory.
Officially formed in the spring of 2002 in Tampa, FL, Charlie Hotel quickly went to work on penning material and refining a live act. Striking inspiration from a wide range of influences, Charlie Hotel has carved out a sound that is a sweetened blend of the music that its members grew up on. From the glam rock of the 70’s to the radio-rock of the 90’s and everything in between, Charlie Hotel has picked up many, varied musical pieces along the way and added them to their arsenal.
Charlie Hotel’s energetic, exciting live show has shared the stage with many well-known artists, including American Hi-Fi, Simple Plan, Tonic, Sister Hazel, Edwin McCain, Vertical Herizon, Hootie and the Blowfish, The Exies, Cowboy Mouth, Killer Mike, The Revonettes, Pat McGee Band, Wayne Wonder, and Dexter Freebish. In May 2002, only three months after they formed, Charlie Hotel finished second in the Clearchannel Starfest Star Search, which was a fan based poll to determine Tampa Bay’s most popular band. Also, in September 2002, Charlie Hotel was the only unsigned band invited to perform on The Rock Beat, an annual cruise headlined by Sister Hazel and featuring the music industry’s hottest up-and-coming acts. In March 2003, Charlie Hotel was handpicked by MTV’s College Televisin Netowrk to play the main-stage at their Spring Break 2003 show in Panama City, FL, and, that same month, they were selected by Miller Lite as one of the top ten bands in central Florida. Charlie Hotel was invited to perform at both the 2003 Florida Music Festival in Orlando and the 2003 Music Law Conference in Gainesville, FL. After taking some time off to record, 2004 looks to be a big year for the boys in Charlie Hotel. They kicked off the year by being the first rock band ever to perform at the new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa, FL, opening a week of festivities that included Hootie and the Blowfish, John Anderson, and K.C. and the Sunshine Band. Charlie Hotel will be releasing their highly anticipated CD late 2005 or early 2006.
