Frequently Asked Questions

F.A.Q. for Clients

What information do you need to be able to quote a price for an event?

There are many factors that can affect the over all cost. Some of those include:

  • Number of Guests – The number of guests you anticipate on having determines the requirements for sound so that all your guests can enjoy the entertainment. Simply put, a room with 2oo people in it requires more equipment than a room with 50.
  • Location of Event – We need to know the location of the event because some venues already provide sound. We also work with entertainment from all over and need to factor travel expenses into the quote.
  • Time of Year – Some months or occasions are busier than others (i.e. New Years and wedding season) and can therefore affect pricing
  • Customized Services – At DBM we customize everything we do based on your needs and can supply much more than entertainment, such as full event management. For example, for weddings we also often supply music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, which don’t all require a full band.

We work with a multitude of acts and bands at varying prices so although it is not necessary for us to know your budget in order to send you a quote, knowing the amount of money you would like to stay within saves time for both parties and allows us to be of better service to you.

When quoted a price, what is included?

The band for a four (4) hour block of time including intermissions. Note: set up and tear down is not included in this block of time.
• Set up
• Tear down
• MC work
• Sound
• Lighting
• CD’s being played on band breaks

What if I need the band for more or less than 4 hours?

All fees are based on any time period up to four (4) hours so we can adjust the time based on your needs.

We can arrange for a band to be scheduled for more than (4) hours if negotiated at time of booking, and a discounted fee will be factored into the total price. If a performance time over four (4) hours is decided on the day of the event instead or prior to, there will be an overtime rate of time and a half based on contracted price.

How do I know what type of band is right for my event?

Our qualified agents and consultants are on hand to discuss your needs and assist you in making a professional decision on the best band for your event. One of the many benefits of working with our agency is that we already know of and work with the best entertainment, and can easily help you decide which will work best for you based on your needs and wants.

Do the bands learn new material to perform for special dances at wedding receptions?

Our policy here is that the band will learn one (1) song that is not included in their repertoire, as long as the song to be learned fits the style of the band and we are given at least 60 days notice.

If the band cannot perform the requested song for a special dance at a wedding reception, what can be done?

We will have your music on CD ready to play at your event, in lieu of the band performing it.

Do you provide staging and power?

Our agreements call for the client to provide staging and power, but we can also provide them at an additional cost.

What forms of payment do your accept?

Cash, Check or Money Orders. We also accept Credit Cards at an additional 3% charge.

How do I secure a band for my event?

A contract is issued and a deposit is required.
